A long-term investigation by the Arizona Attorney General's Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Phoenix Police Department identified Evans-Gomez as a major drug trafficker. Investigators determined he had repeatedly helped move large quantities of drugs to customers, including tens of thousands of dollars' worth of cocaine, and had collected drug proceeds. On April 7, 2026, officers watched Evans-Gomez receive a large shipment of drugs from a source. When they contacted him, they seized a bag containing approximately 50 pounds of methamphetamine. A subsequent search of his home uncovered: Approximately one pound of cocaine Five ounces of heroin Nearly 3,500 fentanyl pills Six firearms Mr. Evans-Gomez was indicted on April 13, 2026. On
