Integrating the Canadian Health Measures Survey and administrative data for use in Statistics Canada's research data centres
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing new files that link the first seven cycles of the Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS), conducted from 2007 to 2009 (Cycle 1) through 2022 to 2024 (Cycle 7), with selected administrative databases. These linkage files enable researchers to follow the CHMS participants over time and examine how directly measured health characteristics are associated with health outcomes, including cancer incidence, hospitalization, emergency department use, mental health service use, survival and mortality.
