Statement by President Meloni on Switzerland’s decision to waive reimbursement of the medical expenses for those injured in the Crans-Montana tragedy
It is with great satisfaction that I welcome the news, communicated to me by President Guy Parmelin, of Switzerland’s decision not to seek reimbursement of the medical expenses for the Italian nationals who were injured in the Crans-Montana tragedy and received care in Swiss hospitals. I am pleased with this solution: no expenses will fall upon the families or upon Italy. My thoughts go out once again to the families of the victims and the young people who were injured, who are facing such immense pain with extraordinary dignity and strength. I once again offer them the sincerest sympathy of the Italian Government, which will remain by their side. I thank President Parmelin for the sensitivity shown. This decision confirms the strength of the relationship between our nations.
